3A - Obstinately-"it was his Colomber, slowly moving back and forth, obstinately waiting for him." Expedient- "From then on, with every expedient the boy was dissuaded from the desire to go to sea." Scrutinized- "After the boy insisted, the father went to get a telescope, and he scrutinized the surface of the sea." Indomitable- " An indomitable impulse dragged him without rest." Intrepid- "Stefano began to sail, giving proof of his sea-worthiness, his resistance to fatigue, and his intrepid spirit." Placid- "Officers and sailors saw him disappear down below, on the placid sea." Inexorable- "He might have moved even to the most remote continent, and still the Colomber would have appeared in the mirror of the nearest sea, with the inexorable obstinacy of a fatal instrument." Phosphorescent-" And the shark stuck out his tongue, offering the old captain a small phosphorescent sphere." Sever- " … he did not find the strength to sever himself from it."
3B - The inciiting incident was when Stefano saw the colomber for the first time. We chose this as the inciting incident because from then on Stefano obsesses about the colomber for the rest of the story. "There's a dark thing that rises in the wake every so often ," Stefano said, "and it follows behind us."
3c - The climax was when Stefano decided to face the colomber. We chose this as the the climax because we feel events in the the were leading up to this main turning point."Here I am with you finally," Stefano said.
3D1 - A lesson is something that is to be learned after a series of good or bad events.
3D2 - The Colomber caused curiosity for the main character. We know this because Stefano obsesses about the Colomber throughout the whole story.
3D3 - Stefano grew old and bitterly unhappy as he developed through the story due to his curiosity of the Colomber instead of living his life.
3D4 - His main outcome was him having a life that he did not enjoy bacause he was to busy obsessing about the Colomber.
3D5 - Lesson-Face your problems and fears early instead of letting them control your life. Stefano let the Colomber take control of his life not letiting him persue his own dreams. After Stefano faced the Colomber late in his life, he realized that the Colomber was not the scary beast everyone said it was. If he would have face the Colomber earlier in life, he could of persued his dreams and lived his own life.

3b. The inciting incident is when Stefano spots the colomber , and his father claims that he is cursed. It's caused him to become more afraid and curious about the shark. "What you see rising from the water and following us is not some object. That is a colomber."
3c.Stafano, at a very old age then chosed to face his fear of the colomber and demolish the fish from his nightmares. I chose this as my climax because after many, many years of running away from his fear of the colomber he finally chose to face the vicious creature.
3di. A teaching of how to deal and solve with problems of daily lives.
3dii.The curiosity was caused when his father stated that there was a shark trying to devour him. After that happened, he used all of his time and energy to study everything he coould learn.
3diii. He started off as an ambitous young whippper-snapper with dreams to sail. Then he become obsessed and really old. His curiostiy had taken over his life, preventing him from persuing his dreams
3div. He became obsessed and spent most of his early years studying and learning everything he could know about the colomber which in return made him afraid.
3v. One lesson is that you should face your fears early in your life so they wont consume you later on. Stefano was too afriad to confront the colomber in early on which made him constenlty worry. However, later in his life he decided to face the colomber, and confirm and curosity.

1B. The inciting event is basically when Stefano and his father are on the boat. Stefano was obersving the ocean and he finds something lurking behind them so he tell his father and then the story begins.
1C. The climax was Stefano finally interacting with the colomber. He was kind of cursed but at the same time he wasn’t because he was trying to figure out something he was always curious about but it was all he ever did. The colomber gave Stefano a "pearl" but turned out that it never really was. He washed ashore days later after he was eaten and killed. The pearl turned out to be a small pebble.
D1. A lesson is something that occurs in life and basically teaches you about something. When you learn about this lesson, you apply it to life and it sometimes helps with situation.
D2. Curiousity is caused for the character because one day, he finds something lurking behind them in a boat so that's when the curiousity began. His father was always curious so he kind of took over his fathers job and just studied the obsession he always had. I think the curisoity sort of turns into a bit of an obsession.
D3. He spent many years wondering about the colomber. The colomber was the curiousity that lended to the main character. It developed the whole story with just one character's feelings.
D4. His curiousity just turned into an obsession. I think the day he saw the colomber, that was curiousity but day and day after that, it was just an obsession that needed to be satisfied.
D5. The lesson that I took from this story is that everyone has that one obsession in life that needs to be satisfied. He stayed away from the sea and tried to get as much information as he could. He needed to fill that obsession.

a-. 1-Sea- ‘’I want to go to sea with you’’ pg 28 2- Colomber - that’s a colomber pg 29 3- harpoon- he raised the harpoon to strike. 4.- devour- I have not pursued you around the world to devour you. 5.- phosphorescent – and the shark stuck out its tongue, offering the old captain a small phosphorescent sphere. 6.- sails- admiring the complicated maneuvers of the sails. 7- siege after so many years, even supposing that all the stories his father told him were true, the colomber had certainly given up its siege.
B. I think the inciting incident was Stefano seeing the colomber. I chose this because after he saw the shark he devoted all of his free time to research and seeing if the colomber was still following him. It said, “as soon as he had free time he would hurry to the end of the pier for a kind of verification.”
c. The climax was when Stefano was face to face with the colomber. I chose this do to how everything that comes before this leads up to this point. “here I am with you finally, “Stefano said, “Now it’s just the two of us.” And gathering his remaining strength, he raised the harpoon to strike.
D-1. an amount of teaching given at one time; a period of learning or teaching. d-2.If the colimber will follow him where ever he goes. d-3. It ended up making him old and go insane. d-4. He goes insane and dies d-5. Face your fears so you don’t live in fear and withdraw for the rest of your life.

3b. When Stefano saw the Colombre. "now i'm worried about you. What you see rising from the water and following us is not some object. that is a Colombre. 3c. When he goes back to the sea and finds out the Colombre is still waiting for him. it has the most tension. "at a distance of 2 to 3 hundred meters from the pier in the open sea a sinister fish was moving back and forth slowly raising its muzzle from the water every now and then and turning towards land." d1. It is something learned in a story d2. When he found the Colombre. i know this because after he saw it he studied it and decided to go back to the sea. d3.He obsesses about the Colombre. d4. He faced the Colombre to late and he died after he got the Perla Del Mare. d5. We can learn to face our fears earlier in life. If Stefano would have faced the Colombre earlier he would have had a better life. If he would have gotten the "pearl" earlier he would have had more luck, power, love, and peace of mind. If you don't face your fears earlier in life you might end up like Stefano.

3b) The inciting incident of The Colomber was when Stefano set back out to sail then came back on land, and it pricked him to go back out because the colomber was waiting for him. I chose this because it was leading up to the climax, and because it’s not that exciting but it is leading up to the most tense part. "To sail and sail was his only thought. Just as soon as he set foot on land in some port again immediately pricked him.' 3c) The climax of The Colomber was when Stefano was getting chased by the colomber, and he grew old and couldn’t betray it. I chose this as the climax because it is the starting of the most tense part. “It has escorted me from one end of the world to the other,” Stefano said, “with a faithfulness that not even the noblest friend could have shown. Now I am about to die. The colomber too will be terribly old and weary by now. I cannot betray it 3d1) A lesson is an important thing in life that you need to know to live your life. Also it is something that you should know throughout your life. 3d2) The character was curios because his father told him only a little about the fish. The main character wanted to know more about the fish and what it will do to him once it waited long enough. 3d3) It made the character basically kill himself from the inside out. He was worrying too much about the fish and not about his life so by the time he got the courage to go out to the fish he was already about to die. 3d4) He was killing himself from the inside out. By the time he got the courage to meet the fish he was already basically a dead man just because he was worrying about what the fish will do to him and not about his own life. 3d5) Don't always listen to what people tell you. If people tell you the wrong thing you could get the best of yourself. He wasn't really going to be eaten by the shark but the shark was just going to give him a gift.
