a) He continues to risk his life because he liked sailing. He was willing to put his life on the line, just to keep doing what he loves. He also started to become obsessed with the shark.
b) He probably would have been much happier and would be able to go to sea without the fear of the Colomber following him. He would have felt much better and he still could have enjoyed life doing what he loved.
c) In my opinion, his father would have been the monster. If it wasn’t real, and if his father knew it was not real, then his dad made him stop doing what he loved to do and would have held him back. Even after his father passed and when Stefano knew it was real, he still continued to sail. So, if his father was still alive at the time, he probably would have never allowed Stefano to go back into the ocean.
d) Basically, I think that the story is trying to tell you that you should not always believe what you hear from people. No one really knew if it was true, because they really did not provide any evidence to prove that the story Stefano was told was actually true. The author tried to show you that no matter what the risks are, you should always pursure something that makes you happy, because lifes too short to no do what you love and to constantly live in fear.

1. a. He wants to try to get it to stop following him so he can be at peace while in the sea or maybe for the assurance that it wasn’t just a story and the shark was really following him. 1. b. I think he would have been much happier to know that the colomber was giving him the pearl of the sea and he wouldn’t have spent his whole life trying to get away from it. 1. c. Maybe there was no moster and he just had a love for the sea or wanting to follow in his father's foot steps and being afraid to go makes it harder. 1. d. I thnk that the author is trying to tell us that running away from something you think is scary isnt always the best idea because I could turn out to be or have something great. 2. 1.(a) He continues to risk his life at sea because the threat that followed him all the time seemed to strengthen his will, his love for the sea, but also because he is curious.
1. (b) I think if he faced the colomber earlier in his life he would have relized that you can't always believe what people tell you because they might not really know what will happen espacially if its never happened to them before. Also, I think he may have been able to enjoy his life a little more and be less bitter.
1.(c) I think that the sea would be his monster because he wants to go back to the sea so badly and so eagerly because that's how he grew up and that's what he loves.
1.(d) I think that the author is trying to tell us to face our fears. If possible you should face your fears earleir in life so that you can relize that maybe its not as scary as you think it is.

1a. Stefano keeps risking his life out at the sea because he loves the sea and wants to be just like his father. Also, he is obsessed with the Colomber so he keeps risking his life to go out to the sea to see the Colomber.
1b. I think if Stefano would have faced the Colomber earlier in his life he would realize that he would be fortunate because of the Perla del Mare and he wouldn’t have to be going to the sea everyday to look for the Colomber and always have his mind on the Colomber.
1c. I believe that Stefano would still go back to the sea. If there wasn't a colomber than this story wouldn't have happened.
1d. Stefano always wanted to be sailor and own a huge boat like his father. Stefano's father kept saying no to him whenever Stefano said that he wanted to be just like his father. I think the author is trying to tell us that don't let anyone ever say no to something that you want to pursue or want to make a hobby of yours

1A) Stefano doesn't stay away from the shark, or colomber, because he thought it was like a destiny for him to go back to sea to show his father that he was willing and able to go back to the sea. It showed his worthiness of facing his fear of the colomber. He feels as thought it is his duty to show his father that he belongs on the sea.
1B) Possiby, if Stefano had faced the colomber earlier in his life, he would have been brought luck, power, love and peace of mind to him earlier. Maybe his father wouldn’t have passed away so young, or maybe he could live in a nicer place, or no longer be worried about the colomber or anything else in his life.
1C) Maybe it was his love of the sea that kept him coming back to the sea. His father may have seen or been in a bad situation at sea and that’s why he was so scared for Stefano. If there was no shark, what could hurt him? I think it was mostly his dad or his dads fear of losing Stefano that was the "monster".

1.a)Stefano knew that the colombre wanted him because of what his father and other people said but he continued to go out and fish anyway. He was happy at sea and wanted to be happy even if there was a chance that he could never come back. He enjoyed what he was doing and that’s what mattered to him. It also gave him courage and made him braver.
1.b)If he had faced the colombre earlier in his life he would have been happier for the rest of his life. The creature wanted to give him the Perla del Mare. That stone was said to bring power, love, luck, and peace of mind. Instead Stefano was listened to what everyone else said and did not experience what was going on for himself. He became old and tired because he ran from something that did not exist how people said it did.
1.c)He always went back to sea because he thought he belonged ouy there. He went back all the time for him to be away from the cities. He wanted to be where he was raised and born near. For him the sea was his home and his entire life.
1.d)The author is trying to say Stefano judged everything by what other people said and thought instead of finding out for himself. He ran for most of his life because he was to scared to figure something out for himself. He judged the book by its cover which means he thought it looked mean and sounded mean so it had to be mean. If he would have seen for himself what the colombre was he could have had a wonderful and prosperous life.

1A;Stefano is a brave sailor, who has known the colomber since he was 12 years old. All of his life and the colomber's life, this large shark has followed him around the world from one sea to another, both just wasting their lifes almost together, so I think that Stefano feels a connection with this shark. So when him and the shark both are almost ready to pass away, he wants to talk to the thing that was with him all his life so he goes up to the shark and they finally talk for the first and last time in their life.
1B;I think that both Stefano and the colomber would've lived a happier life, because the colomber would'nt have had to follow Stefano around the world, and Stefano would've had luck, power, love, and peace of mind from the pearl. Also, Stefano would'nt have had to live his whole life out on a ship because he would'nt have been so obsessed with knowing why the colomber was following him.
1C;I think that if the colomber wasn't real, it was the curosity that something might be attached to him that kept him coming back, wondering what it was that was following him and why it was following him in the first place.
1D;I think that the author is trying to get at that you can't judge a book by its cover. All of Stefano's life, he thought that this large, mean, creature was following him and that the creature wanted to kill him, but in reality that’s not what it was. The colomber was a nice, big, shark who was following him as an order by a person who wanted to give him a gift. So I think the author is saying not to judge a book by its cover because sometimes when you do that you're completely wrong about what you believe is to be true, and that sometimes other people don't know what they're saying about someone or something, so you shouldn’t always go off of what other people say

a)He keeps on going out to the sea and risking his life because he falls in love with it. Also he becomes more and more obsessed with the colomber. b)I feel as that if he encountered the colomber earlier he would've had good luck for a longer time in his life. c)I think the "moster" would be the sea because he is so fond of the sea and his love for it keeps on growing and it keeps pulling him out to sea all the time. d)I believe the author is trying to say is that it doesn’t matter what others say about something because it could just end up to not be true, it's just what they think. Why I say this is because everybody said about the colomber tourtures you. But really he was really nice and didn’t want to attack him at all. 2)Scrutinized, expedient, abyss, intrepid, indomitabler, placid, phosphorescent, obstinately, inexorable, intermittently

1a. Stefano loved to sail, it was his passion. He wouldn't let the the shark keep him from what he loved. The Columber also become almost an obsession to him. 1b. If he had faced the columber earlier in life, he would have had a better life. He spent a majority of his life doing things inland, or spending time doing things of no interest to him. If he would have faced the shark, he could have spent his hole life at sea doing what he loved. 1c. It was his drive to outrun the monster and curiosity of whether it was a myth, or it was fate, or what would happen to him. 1d. The author is trying to tell the reader that in life you must face your fears. The story tells of a man living his life in complete fear. For a long portion of his life he avoided his desires of sailing because his fear. He lived his life waiting with such anguish about how ad when the Columber would kill him. If he would have faced it sooner his life would have been different and he would be happier, but he llived in constant fear. So, the moral of the story is to face your fears because you never know the outcome.

1a He wants to live like his dad out on the sea. No other passion then to be on the sea. He can try as much as he wanted to but he always thought about the creature and all of the storys his dad has been telling him. His dad made his son stay on land until his death from sickness. He wanted to enjoy the sea he wanted to do what his dad does but he couldn’t . His life would have been more exciting then what it accutally was if he was not terrififed. He did not want to work on land he wanted to follow his dad passion which was on the sea. He may have even got his dad ship if it wasn’t for the creature
